The Coffee Book Tag

I was tagged by the wonderful Marianna over at ImpressionBlend to do this tag, so it's time!

1. BLACK: Name a series that's tough to get into but has hardcore fans
Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. This series is really complicated and can be a little difficult to get into. Holy smokes though, totally worth it.

2. PEPPERMINT MOCHA: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling seems to be everyone's favourite winter read, and it's the same for me. When I reread Harry Potter, it's always close to Christmas.

3. HOT CHOCOLATE: What is your favourite children's book?
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Still one of my favourite books. There's also The Chronicles of Narnia and A Thousand and One Nights.

4. DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish
The Diviners by Libba Bray, because Naughty John is freaking creepy.

5. STARBUCKS: Name a book you see everywhere
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It's one of those books I feel everyone has read, but I haven't. I don't really want to either though.

6. THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout
I haven't really read a lot of self-published authors, so I will give a shoutout to a lesser know author instead: Rune Christiansen. My favourite books by him is Jeg Har Tenkt Meg Til De Elysiske Sletter, which is a wonderful poetry collection and Fraværet av Musikk which is a novel.

7. OOPS! I ACCIDENTALLY GOT DECAF: Name a book you were expecting more from
Recently, The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins

8. THE PERFECT BLEND: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying
Again, A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin. It's very realistic (or as realistic as epic fantasy gets), and you can never feel to safe about anything or anyone. But it's so amazing! GAH!

Feel free to do this tag yourself, I would love to see your answers!

  1. I love the photos in this post :) I'm currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire series (just finished A Storm of Swords), so your photos speak to my soul right now. Don't worry, I haven't read Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children either, though everyone has been talking about it for a while now. Maybe one day? Loved your answers! I'm so glad you did the tag :)

  2. I hope you're liking ASOIF so far! It's been a while since I read them, might be time for a reread... It's good to know it's not just me who haven't read Miss Peregrines!

Thanks for tagging me! It was fun!
