Book Haul: Persephone Books

I've been drooling over the books from Persephone ever since I first saw them. I love the simplicity of the covers and the production of the books is really beautiful. They have beautiful endpapers and come with matching bookmarks. So, I couldn't hold myself back any longer, and finally got my hands on some.

If you're unaware, Persephone Books publishes "lost" or out-of-print books, most of them by women or about women. I really love that concept, and a lot of their books look really interesting. I have an itch to get them all, but there are over a hundred, so it would be a bit overkill. However, I got my hands on eight of them, and hopefully I will get more soon. Four of them are the standard grey books, and four of them are their popular classics that they've brought out with paintings on the covers.

They also have a shop in London that I'm dying to go to.

Enough of that! To the books!

Let me know if you've read any of these, or what Persephone Books you want to read.

  1. Oh, how lovely! They're really beautiful - I hope you like them. Beautiful photography as well, by the way - really should learn how to take better pictures myself ...

  2. I only own 3 Persephone books: Cheerful Weather for the Wedding, Someone at a Distance, & Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day. I really want to get Mariana by Monica Dickens.
