Review:
I started reading this in an attempt to read more short story collections, and overall, I enjoyed it, but it was nothing extraordinary.

What I like about these stories are that they are all very different in plot. However, I felt perhaps the voice was too similar in them, almost as if they're told by the same person (and they're not meant to, as far as I could gather). I also think this book tries hard to be mysterious and not always succeeding in being so. I'm left with the feeling of these stories trying to be very deep and meaningful and failing to be that to me.

There were a few stories in this that stood out to me, and those I felt really immersed in, but I felt especially the ones toward the end to be a bit dull. However, I think I will want to read some more of this authors work, and I feel an underlying potential that I'm very curious about.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy short stories, but I don't think it's suitable for everyone.
