Review:
This is my most highly anticipated book of the year and I'm so happy I finally got to read it! The Handmaid's Tale is one of my favorite books of all time and getting to go back to this world and read more about it was such a treat.

We see the story from three different viewpoints, all of which add something to the book, although two of them are much stronger narratives than the third, which I found a little lacking when it came to the voice and development of that character. I also think there were things about that perspective that were really obvious very early on and I think it could've been worked on a little more. The other two perspectives were excellent though and I loved reading about them.

The tone of this book is a lot different from the first book and I think that was a good choice; trying to recreate the tone of The Handmaid's Tale would've been impossible. This book feels more open as we get to read about so much more and there's a lot more plot in it. I quite liked that, although I do think the plot takes a little too much charge towards the end.

The story brings up a lot of really interesting themes but I don't think this has the same impact as The Handmaid's Tale. That being said, I absolutely loved getting to see more from this world that's just so intriguing and getting to see more of what happened to it all. I feel very lucky that I got to read this and I'm glad Atwood wrote it. Definitely worth the read!
