Review:
I picked this up knowing it was one of those cosy mystery novels that probably wouldn't blow me away but would still be very enjoyable, and that's exactly what this was. I now also know that this series is based on a BBC1 program, but I've never watched it.

One of my favorite things about this was the main character and how he is so out of place in this setting, because it added a nice comedy element to the story. He's a little ridiculous, maybe overly ridiculous at times, but it made the story more enjoyable. I do think he could've been a bit more three dimensional and perhaps I would've felt he was more well-rounded if I'd watched the TV-series, but I really feel like it shouldn't be neccesary to do that.

All the characters do feel slightly flat, but for some reason it didn't really bother me all that much. I was really intriguied by the mystery and I loved the setting of this book. The story also borders on silly in some parts, but every once in a while, you just want to read something that's zero effort and this is exactly that.

This was just very entertaining and easy to get lost in, and I did enjoy it so much I'm going to keep going with this series; it's the perfect kinds of books to keep at hand when I'm a little tired and just want something easy.
