Review:
So, this is one of Norway's most anticipated releases this fall and I was very excited to read it! It ended up doing a lot of things I liked, but also some things I didn't love as much.

I think the mystery in here is the strongest element of this book; it's twisty, surprising and how everything came together in the end was excellent. It was hard to predict most of it, so that was really fun. I also think the way this author writes characters is pretty good, with a few exceptions.

There are a lot of perspectives we get to read from in this book and I'm not going to lie, I think there are maybe a tad too many. We also focus a lot on one character in particular and we get much more from that perspective than the others, and I would've liked for it to be a bit more even. There are also things that repeat themselves a lot in that characters perspective and that got a little tiring.

I also missed have a slightly better sense of place, and more atmosphere and suspense. I think the parts that felt the most atmospheric were the parts we got to read from the perspective of the snake, those were really good.

Overall though, strong mystery with interesting characters and definitely worth the read. This is also this authors first novel and I'm interested to see what she writes next.
