Review:
This was such a thrilling read!

I haven't seen the movie adaptation of this, so I went in not really knowing a whole lot and it caught me off guard just how crazy this whole thing got. It's suspenseful and exciting and it gets really, really dark, which I liked.

I like how we get to really focus on our main characters and get to know them. I really enjoyed reading this story from the authors perspective and I love the way the book describes how he feels and what he's going through, it's extremely well captured. The story really is about the author trying to survive and how he struggles with not only just making it through the days, but how he struggles with himself.

When I say this book got crazy, it really did. The fan is completely psychotic and seeing her in her ups and downs was scary and fascinating all at the same time. At the end, she really loses it and things get completely out of hand, which makes for captivating reading that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

There is a definitive dip in the middle of the novel though, where I felt things got a little boring. I also don't always love the novel-within-a-novel thing which makes an appearance in this book; at least I felt like all of it wasn't necessary.

Overall though, I really liked this and I'd recommend it if you like thrillers and can deal with a bit of scary stuff and a bit of gore.
