Review:
This was a pretty interesting little book, but felt a bit too short for me.

The premise of the story is fantastic and I really like the science fiction elements of it, but I'm left feeling kind of unfulfilled. I feel like there are too many questions left unanswered and there were several things I just didn't understand.

I also don't really feel like the characters in this story were particularly well developed and they all felt a bit bland to me. I've read other short stories that are even shorter than this that have amazing characters, so I know it's possible to do. It's a little bit surprising to me though, that du Maurier couldn't manage it in this, because she's usually really good at characters.

She's excellent at creating atmosphere though and she does it in this as well, which was my favorite part. Otherwise, I'm not all that impressed by this.
