Review:
I picked this up because I wanted a spooky book to read for October and this was pretty perfect for that!

I really like the atmosphere in this book and how it's set in a small town in autumn, I felt like that was captured really well. The carnival is intriguing and I like how you can tell that there's something off about it but you don't know what it is. There's a lot of eeriness and darkness in here that I love.

I also like how this book in part explores the relationship between a father and his son, as well as friendship between two teenage boys, but I did feel a slight disconnect overall with the characters. I also think there are some parts of the writing that feel a little choppy and that I didn't quite get on with.

Overall though, a fun little book to have read and a perfect book for the weeks around Halloween.
