Review:
So, I really wanted to love this book but sadly I just didn't.

There are a lot of things in here that would appear to be perfect for a bibliophile; we've got a woman running a cool bookshop, loads of literary references and we meet a character who can pick out the perfect books for just about everyone. And I do like the setting, I love the feel of this town and this shop, but I felt a little less satisfied with the characters and the overall plot.

Although all the characters have interesting backgrounds and I like how this book focuses on female friendship, I just found them a little vapid and I found the chemistry between several characters a little off. There's just something about it that doesn't work for me for some reason. I also felt that the plot was predictable and obvious and not nearly as exciting as it could've been.

I think that maybe my lack of enjoyment of this book comes down to the writing; there's just something about it that doesn't jive with me and there were several parts I read where I thought that the writing felt off.

So overall, not a great read for me and I probably will not continue to read the series, even if the premise of these stories is so very up my alley.
