This is a retelling of the fairytale of Hansel and Gretel and the story revolves around a mother and daughter. I really like Oyeyemi's writing style, so I'm very excited about this!
What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon

This is a historical science fiction novel set in Ireland where a woman has lost her grandfather and when she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes, she's pulled into another time. I love a good book with a bit of time travel!
Beware the Night by Jessika Fleck

This is a young adult fantasy novel set on an island where the people worship the Sun, which protects the people from the dangers of the Night and in the middle of this is a young girl whose life is rocked to its core when her grandfather is offered up as the next sacrifice to placate their God.
The Bird King by G. Willow Wilson

This is a historical novel with a bit of magical realism set all the way back in 1491 and it's the story of a woman named Fatima who is the last remaining concubine to the sultan and her dearest friend Hassan, the palace mapmaker.
