Review:
So I picked this up because I read some great reviews and liked the idea of reading a book set in Cuba and even though this is a romance novel, which is a genre I generally don't enjoy, I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

I felt about this very much the way I thought I was going to; I really like the setting and the historical aspects of the book, learning about Cuba and its history. I like that the book has a dual perspective and that we follow one woman in present day and one back in the late 50's, and I liked getting to know the characters.

All of that being said though, I really didn't care for the romance element of the story, and I'm well aware that that is most likely entirely personal preference; it's me, it's not the book. I was so interested in the history, culture and setting, so much so that I felt like the romance just got in the way and I just... I was just not interested in that part of the story in the slightest.

So overall, this was mostly enjoyable and there were elements that I really enjoyed and some that I didn't.
