Review:
Because I enjoyed Red Rising so much, I immediately started reading this after I'd finished it, and although I don't think this is as strong as the first book, I still really enjoyed it.

My favorite thing about this is how we see this world expand and we get to learn more about it. A lot of it is set while traveling in space and we get to visit several new planets and places, which was really cool.

The action in this is exciting, but a little overwhelming; there's almost too much of it. There is so much going on all the time that I sometimes felt like there was very little space left for reflection or those quiet periods of time where we get to see characters grow, which I thought was a little bit of a shame.

It really picks up towards the end though and it ends in such an explosion that I had to just start reading the third book immediately. It's a very compelling series, especially if you like science fiction!
