Review:
So, this book was a little different that I had anticipated and I'm not entirely convinced I really liked it all that much.

I will say, I did learn quite a lot, but I felt like we got to read more about religion than atheism, which is interesting, but not what I expected. Religion in the ancient world seems to have been quite a different thing than it was later in history and I really liked reading about that (even if it wasn't news to me). I did feel like a lot of the material only scratched the surface though and I think if it had dug a little deeper it would've maybe been a lot more interesting.

I don't think this is a bad book by any means and it's clearly well researched, but I don't think it's quite the type of nonfiction I like reading. I thought the writing often felt dry and dense and it was just not enjoyable at all. I like a little fun in my nonfiction books and there is very little of it in here.

Weirdly enough, even though I didn't enjoy this, I almost feel like it would've been better if it was longer and if the author had the space to dig deep and have a little fun. Because there isn't space for that though, it just ended up being kind of boring.
