This is a contemporary literary fiction novel set in Nigeria and all I really know is that it's the story of a family and that it's highly, highly anticipated by basically everyone. Sounds exactly like the kind of book I like, so I really need to get my hands on this!
The Comeback by Ella Berman

This is also contemporary fiction but I think there's a bit of a mystery element in here as well. It's about this famous teen actress that goes missing and it explores power dynamics and growing up, which sounds very interesting!
The Mother Code by Carole Stivers

This is science fiction dystopia, it's set in the future where a deadly biowarfare weapon gets out of control and scientists scramble to ensure the survival of the human race by having robots carry human babies. I mean, that sounds insane but also absolutely fascinating.
The Exiles by Christina Baker Kline

This is a historical fiction novel that takes a look at the lives of women in nineteenth century Australia. It explores colonism, freedom and feminism, and I think there's some sort of epic boat ride in here as well, which sounds very intriguing to me!

This is historical fiction and the book starts off with a dying man requesting his daughter stay with him in his final hours while going through a box of wartime memorabilia and while going through it, his daughter discovers a picture and we're brought back to 1944 as the father tells his daughter about his past.
