February has arrived and we've got some intriguing new books coming out this month!
The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel

This is one of my most anticipated releases of this year. I loved Station Eleven by Mandel when I read it a few years ago, so much so that I'll read whatever she comes out with, and to be honest, I haven't even looked into this that much. I know it's literary fiction and that it's about a man who owns a hotel, but that's about it.
The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hardgrave

This is actually set in Norway, so obviously I'm interested! The story starts off in 1617 and it's set in this little town where all the mean have died in a shipwreck and so the women in the town are left to fend for themselves, and then a few years later, a man from Scotland, known for burning witches, arrives in the town.
The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James

This is a mystery thriller about the secrets of this rundown roadside motel and I think the story follows a young woman who gets ensnared by whatever is going on there. I feel like motels just have this sinister vibe to them anyway, so I'm very interested in this.
Saint X by Alexis Schaitkin

This is another mystery thriller about a young woman who disappears while on vacation in the Caribbean and the mystery never gets solved, so when her younger sister grows up, having only been seven at the time of her disappearance, she sets off to find out the truth.
The Holdout by Graham Moore
18th
Yet another mystery thriller, this one is about a woman who was a juror in a case where she is convinced the man on trial, an African American high school teacher accused of murdering one of his students, is innocent, and so she managed to convince everyone else of it as well, so the man went free. Then, ten years later, all the jurors are called together to make a documentary about the trial and at this time, someone is found dead in the woman's room. Sounds kind of complicated, but very interesting!
