June is here and it's time to look at some books coming out this month! There are SO many to choose from this time around, but here are the ones I'm the most excited about.
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong

This is a debut novel and it's a shattering portrait of a family, and it explores the relationship between a single mother and her son, as well as race, class and masculinity. The author is also a poet, so I'm sure the writing style will be really interesting as well.
Magic for Liars by Sarah Gailey

This is a fantasy mystery novel (which is such a cool combination) and it's about this private investigator who I think can do magic and when she stumbles upon this murder case, she gets into some deep trouble.
Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner

This explores the lives of two sisters who are struggling to find their places in the fast evolving world of 1950's America. I've read some early reviews of this and it sounds fantastic!
Mostly Dead Things by Kristen Arnett

This is contemporary fiction about a family that falls apart when the father commits suicide, and then I think a lot of this is set in a taxidermy shop, which is a very interesting setting. This cover is also absolutely to die for, it's incredible!
The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo

This is a generational novel that follows the four very different daughters of a Chicago couple that fell in love in the 70's. This is another debut and it just sounds wonderful. It explores parenthood and sisterhood, all against a quintessential American backdrop.
