Two musicians meet and a transformative friendship begins, but soon falls apart when jealousy and self-doubt creeps in.
This was quite an interesting book and I liked a lot of things about it.
I think this story offers up a lot of interesting discussions about race, friendship and how women are so often pitted against each other. I like how it explores friendship between these two women and how deep and meaningful friendships can be, and how devastating it is when those kinds of friendships end. I also thought it was interesting how social media played a huge role in this story, and it does so in a way I think a lot of us can relate to.
I don't think this made much of a lasting impression on me though, unfortunately. I thought it was interesting but didn't ever feel completely engrossed in the story, and I think the characters could've used some more work; we focus much more on the relationships between the characters without getting to know them as individuals all that well, and I would've just liked a little bit more of that.
Overall though, an interesting book with a lot of valuable thoughts and interesting discussions.
