Inspired by Mexican folklore, this is a fairytale esque story about the Mayan God of Death who sends a young woman on a life changing journey. It's also set in the Jazz Age which is one of my favorite eras to read about!
Deep River by Karl Marlantes

This is a historical fiction novel set in the early 1900's and it's about three Finnish siblings trying to survive under Russian oppression. I've read that this has got fantastic historical detail to it, which sounds very interesting!
Wilder Girls by Rory Power

First of all, this cover is amazing! This is a young adult horror story and it's kind of like Lord of the Flies but with these girls who are stuck at their school because of some disease.
Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson

This is a mystery thriller about this woman who is living an ordinary life, but she's very pleased with it; she teaches diving lessons, bakes cookies for neighbours and she helps her best friend run a book club, and one night, a stranger shows up at this book club and their lives start to unravel.
The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead
16th
This is set in Florida in the Jim Crow era and it's about two boys who are sentenced to go to this hellish reform school. I've read The Underground Railroad by this author and really liked it, so I'm very excited about this one!
