Review:
This was such a wonderful read.

The whole book is written in poetry form and I wondered how that would work and if it would work; and it does. The writing is beautiful and lyrical but it still tells a whole and complete story. It's raw and honest and makes you feel a whole range of emotions.

The story brings up a lot of important issues like immigration, womanhood, sexuality, race, drugs and depression and the way the author deals with these topics feel so real and genuine (probably because they are).

I'm unsure as to how this would read to someone who doesn't enjoy this form of writing, but it's an absolute must read for anyone who enjoys memoirs and poetry.
