I can't believe I haven't read any Toni Morrison before this! I've really been missing out.
I really enjoyed the writing style of the excerpts, stories and essays. It's made me desperately want to read more of this authors work. I've been recommended Beloved many, many times and this book has made me especially interested in reading Beloved and Song of Solomon.
I also very much enjoyed the last essay that was included in this book, which discussed American culture and the 2016 election. Of all the Vintage Minis I've read, this is the only one that's included something as current as this.
I'd recommend this if you want a quick introduction to Morrison, as that is what this book did for me.
