Review:
This was such a fantastic, harrowing and eerie book.

The atmosphere in this book is astonishing, just as I hoped it would be. The writing is excellent and the setting of the countryside of Ireland, filled with culture and superstition, is amazing. The characters are all really interesting and it was so fascinating to see where these people came from and what makes them do unspeakable things.

It's an absolutely heartbreaking story and it's really dark, which I like. It's filled with folklore and religious themes as well, which I loved reading about.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys atmospheric historical fiction, just be aware of the fact that the book deals with child abuse.
