It's here guys, the first month of 2017, and it's time to look at some interesting new books coming our way!

This is a debut novel set in the Russian wilderness and it's filled with spirits, creatures in the forest and misfortune in a small village. It's been likened to Uprooted by Naomi Novik and I quite enjoyed that book, so maybe this will be along the same vein!

This is a literary fiction novel about an 85-year old woman who goes for a walk around Manhattan, meeting all kinds of people and reminiscing her life.

From the same author who wrote Bad Feminist, this is another short story collection dealing with all kinds of women. Just the title is enough for me, I definitely want to read it.

This is a coming of age story about a young girl who gets involved with a family who seem ordinary at first, but are hiding something big...

This is about a young Irish boy who has fled to America from the Great Famine and signs up for the army, and with his brother in arms, he fights in the Indian wars. This author has been shortlisted for the Man Booker twice, so the writing should probably be good, eh?

What books are you excited for this January?
