Review:
Well, well, well, look who actually finally read this book! I had massive expectations and this book brought so much more than I thought it would.

Now, I am one of those people who love reading about awful people, doomed romances and bleak, dark stories, and that makes this more or less perfect for me. Though the first few chapters were confusing and that left me slightly disheartened in the very beginning, the more I read, the more I got sucked in.

I absolutely loved the writing and I felt like the author captured the place and time wonderfully. Like I mentioned, most of the characters are horrible but therefore fascinating and I loved reading about them. I was also happily surprised to find the story taking turns I didn't know it would - with classics you often have a certain idea of what it's going to be about, but I thought this offered up much more. I also think part of the reason I was so happily surprised is that it's so much more than a romance story.

It is awfully dramatic and ridiculous at times, but I loved it all. Though Jane Eyre will probably always be my favorite Brontë book, this one is not far behind.
