Title: The Story of My Teeth
Author: Valeria Luiselli, Christina MacSweeney (translator)

Rating: 2/5

This is the story of "Highway" Sánchez, world traveler and auctioneer, who spins tales and tells stories.
Review:
This book was a strange read. It sort of feels like an experiment, something that's interesting to read, but in the end, I'm not sure I really understand it. I can see the concept, but not the result.
I really liked the themes of storytelling and trying to capture an objects essence by telling a story. I really enjoyed the beginning of the book as well, where I felt like I grasped where the story was going and what the point was. In the second half though, it went a bit over the edge.
I really enjoyed the main character though and I felt like he truly was a great storyteller, and I felt he stayed true to himself throughout the book. I liked the stories he told, but my whole problem with this entire book is that I'm not sure I get it.
I think perhaps the whole thing just got a bit too obscure for me, but I do think it's a thing one either loves or not. For me, I can see it's trying, but it's not quite there for me.
