A collection of poetry that ponders love and the world.

Review:
This poetry collection was absolutely breathtaking, and I am left in awe, as I often am when I find new favorite poetry collections.

I can never really put my finger on what it is that makes some poetry stick with me, why some poetry and some lines burn into the back of my head. I think perhaps there's something intimate and surprising that does it, and this definitely has that. It manages to take you through an entire spectrum of human emotion in under a hundred pages.

One of my favorites from this collection is one of the first poems, called Space Race:

Wanting the sky, wanting the horizon, wanting
to travel further than anyone has ever gone.
There were days when nobody knew what was
over the other side of the sea. A time when
wild places sprawled endless and unchanging.

But here we are, too late to explore the Earth
and to soon to venture into space.
I want to sleep until the universe is open.
I want to sleep until I can pour myself into it
and never look back; chase galaxies
like sailors once chased ports.
p. 5

I think a lot of people, especially women, can really connect to this. I would recommend it with all my heart.
