Review:
Ah, wonderful adventure, exploration and mystery... This book has all of this.

I really enjoyed this book. It's split up into the story of Colonel Fawcett and his adventures in the Amazon and the story of the author and him trying to follow his footsteps. Personally, I enjoyed the stories of Fawcett a lot more, and found the present day viewpoint to be a bit dull, especially in the beginning, which is the only reason I didn't give this book five stars.

The author really manages to capture the time and setting of everything around the mystery of Fawcett and the Amazonian forest, in a way that doesn't feel dry. It reads almost like fiction, even though it isn't. It's also quite educational, without being boring, which is the kind of non-fiction I enjoy.

I can't wait to see this book as a movie (it's coming out this year, I think), and I would highly recommend it if you enjoy adventure and tales of exploration.
