As I've made a goal to read at least a dozen classics this year, I thought I would make a list of five I would like to get to soon.
1984 by George Orwell
The classic and essential dystopian book that I have yet to read. I just need to locate my copy of this, and I will read it.
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
We're all familiar with this story, but I want to read it for myself. Sometimes literature is supposed to make us uncomfortable and I think this does that.
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
I read The Lighthouse last year and found I had mixed feelings about it, but I definitely want to try another one of her books. I've heard good things about this.
The Trial by Franz Kafka
After the highest recommendations from a colleague at work, I want to try some Kafka!
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
A book I cannot believe I haven't read, this has been recommended to me over and over, so I really want to get to this soon.
