Review:
As I have read another series by this author and loved it, my expectations for this book was pretty high. In the end, I don't think it's her best work but definitely worth reading.

I think this book is first and foremost entertaining. It's set in a fascinating world, and the characters are wonderful. I do perhaps think I'm still not quite convinced by some of the friendships in this: I felt like it went from enemy to bestie in two seconds. However, I did love the friendships when they were in place.

I thought perhaps the middle of the story dragged out a bit, and for a long while I kept thinking: is this going somewhere or what? At the end, however, things got really exciting and I could not put it down!

I'm really excited to read the next book in this series, as I hear it only gets better. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and fantasy.
