Title: The Adventure of The Christmas Pudding
Author: Agatha Christie
Published: 1960
Language: English
Pages: 363
Rating: 4/5
Summary:
A collection of five mysteries with the famous detective Hercule Poirot, plus a bonus Miss Marple story.
Review:
First, I must admit that I really, really love Agatha Christie and she can do very little fault with me. Hercule Poirot is one of my favourite characters of all time. And this book was no disappointment. I was surprised to find it was a collection of short stories rather than one story though.
The best part about any Agatha Christie story is the setting and how it's written. It's very charming and has a very distinct tone. I found the stories to be exciting and fascinating, and Poirot is, as mentioned, such a fascinating character.
Only the first story is set during the Christmas time though, so the title is a bit misleading. I think the Adventure of the Christmas Pudding one was my favourite and there was one or two of the short stories that didn't quite hit home with me, though I still enjoyed them.
I would say this is quite light and easy to read during this time of year, because it's split into different stories. I quite enjoyed that.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes mystery novels.
You can get this book at The Book Depository*

I can also recommend the TV show, starring David Suchet as Poirot. The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding has been adapted into an episode called "The Theft of the Royal Ruby".
