Review:
This was such a charming read. We get to know the four sisters through happiness and sadness, from their young teen years into adulthood.

The girls are all quite different characters, and I think anyone can find one of them to truly connect with. I do, however, think I would have enjoyed this more when I was a child than I do now. The book did not disappoint, but did not surprise me.

Personally, I really enjoyed the historical context of this and I liked the characters, but for a children's book, this was a little hard to get through to be honest, because I felt I was a little too old for it.

Overall, this was a really sweet story, and perfect for Christmas time, and I would recommend it if you're in the mood for a historical fiction classic. And it would make a perfect gift for a kid who likes to read!
