This is the second book in The Heroes of Olympus series. You can read a review for the first one here. As this is the second book in a series, this review will contain some spoilers.

Summary:
Percy Jackson has woken from a long and deep sleep. He doesn't remember much more than his own name. In his confusion, he makes his way to a camp for demigods, although he has no memory of the people or the place. All he remembers is a girl: Annabeth.

But the camp is in danger. Together with Hazel, a girl who's supposed to be dead, and Frank, whose life depends on a piece of wood, they are challenged by the god Mars, to go north on a quest that will save the camp and hopefully the world.

Review:
Another great story by Riordan. Again, really entertaining, exciting and action-packed, filled with lots of funny moments as well. I love the friendly banter that passes back and forth between different characters.

Again, I love the world it's set in and I really liked the characters. The story is easy to follow and I like how you get to read from three viewpoints throughout the book. Still love the part about Greek/Roman gods.

The only beef I have with this book is that it felt very similar to the first one. Though I understand why it's been done, and that it's important for the next books to come, it felt a little repetitive at times. I am really excited for the next one though, because the ending might have revealed where they're going.

I would recommend this series to anyone who wants a fast-paced and exciting read.

You can get this book at The Book Depository*, or at your local bookstore.
