Review:
This is the first graphic novel I've ever read, and I absolutely loved it. I really liked how the different kinds of people were depicted as different animals. The Holocaust is a very serious and delicate subject, and this made it a little more bearable, without glossing over anything.

I like how the story is told in parts, and you get breaks by the son having to go home for the night and son on. I also love how you can see effect the war has had on Vladek (the father) in the present day.

It's very realistic, even though the people aren't depicted as humans. I really liked the artwork, and the voices of the characters were very strong.

It was just a really great read. I wasn't bored for a second, and I felt like it was a very true, emotional and honest story. I think this book gave me a new and different view of the life of a Jew during the war.

I would recommend this to anyone who has an interest in history and World War II, and even if you don't, I think it'll be very interesting. I also think this is a good first graphic novel to read.
